I am a U.S. Air Force veteran and spent one year in Viet Nam. After my discharge from the military, I attended community colleges in the southern California area. I transferred to California State University Long Beach and received a degree in Criminal Justice and Sociology. After college, I began working for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (B.O.P.). In 1989, I was transferred from Spokane, Washington to the new prison in Sheridan. I was part of the activation team. When the prison opened I was one of the Unit Managers responsible for two of the housing units in the main prison. In 1993, I was promoted to Discipline Hearing Officer and was responsible for holding administrative hearings in all incidents requiring discipline. I retired from the B.O.P. in early 2007. I am married to Laura and we have two sons and a daughter. My sons, Jack and Nick, both graduated from Sheridan High School. My daughter, Jenny is currently in the fourth grade at Falconer/Chapman school. About eight years ago, just out of curiosity, I attended a school board meeting. I received a lot of valuable information from theses meetings. A short time later, I became a member of the budget committee. In 2013, I ran for a position on the school board and was elected to a four year term.I think every child has the potential and ability to learn. As a board member, every decision we make, we have to ask ourselves; How will this effect the kids in the district. I really enjoy being part of the Sheridan School District. We have great students and staff!
